·Develops and maintains relations with newsmakers and the community.
·Monitors news development by listening to scanners, watching TV, monitoring online news media websites, social media streams and reading the newspaper. Ascertains local issues.
·Interviews news sources at remote locations and executes live in-field reporting from the scene of breaking and developing news events. Uses discretion in dealing with sources.
·Gathers and writes news by verifying details and researching news events.
·Enters information into computer to prepare news copy.
·Enters news stories via websites and social media platforms.
·Anchors newscasts live & recorded
·Reports on local area sports when needed.
·Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, FCC and any other relevant laws, regulations or company guidelines.
