Producer I - Digital Journalist - UNL Ag Leadership Educ & Comm (Lincoln, NE)

This is a full-time grant-funded position to help conceive, create and manage online media content development, production and distribution as a member of the Platte Basin Timelapse (PBT) project, (a partnership between IANR, the Center for Great Plains Studies, Michael Forsberg Photography, Michael Farrell Fine Art and Photography and others).

The Digital Journalist will help conceive, develop, write and produce journalistic content for the PBT website and other outlets including social media. This position will also help recruit and manage student and freelance digital story-tellers who will be working as interns or work-for-hire journalists creating PBT-focused content. The Digital Journalist will work with project leaders in purchasing and maintaining PBT technical gear and computers.

Bachelor’s degree plus one (1) year experience in one or more of the following: hands-on project development; media/budget/production team management experience; content creation experience in stills/video/radio/web/social media or a media related industry including writing, producing, or directing; equivalent education/experience considered.

Work history will demonstrate excellent research, reporting, writing, and organizational skills. Experience in digital news gathering and editing video and/or stills. Familiarity with social media platforms and techniques.
