KSFY News is looking for a dynamic anchor/multimedia journalist to join our newsroom. This person will anchor our weeknight newscasts.
We’re looking for someone with great news sense, intelligence and energy. The ideal candidate is someone who likes digging for stories, breaking news and coaching up-and-coming journalists.
Candidates must have excellent communication skills both on the air and in the newsroom. Someone who can handle breaking news situations on the air is a must. Time management skills are key. You should also be skilled in social media and online news production.
In addition to anchoring assignments, you will be responsible for shooting, writing, voicing and editing stories for television and internet. Occasional live reports will also be expected.
The ideal candidate must be able to work odd hours to complete assigned stories and cover breaking news. You must be able to carry 35 to 45 pounds of equipment. A valid driver’s license as well as a safe driving record is necessary.
Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field is required. At least two years of anchoring and producing experience is preferred.
