Reporter - Star-Herald (Scottsbluff, NE)

The Star-Herald newspaper is looking for a driven reporter interested in covering the stories and people of Western Nebraska and Eastern Wyoming. The position requires an organized person who takes initiative, is tenacious and has a passion for journalism in the digital age.

The Star-Herald is a six-day a week daily covering western Nebraska and eastern Wyoming. We are a BH Media company with 30 dailies and about 40 weeklies across the country, so there is room for growth.

We are looking for a reporter to dig into their beats, covering the issues surrounding our community and the people who make this a great place to call home.

Candidates should be ready to uncover hard-hitting stories as well as hometown features. Growth and development, along with the issues that come with it, are major stories for us, and we need a reporter to find the stories that our readers will be talking about. There is an opportunity to grow, shape and define the stories on the beat, and we're looking for a reporter who is up to the challenge.

The Star-Herald was recently named Nebraska's top daily newspaper by the Nebraska Newspaper Association. We also have received the Omaha World Herald Service to Agriculture award for the last two years. We have had reporters win the best Young Journalists award, they have also won a number of Associated Press awards and we have high expectations for what's to come. We also have passionate readers who care about their community, which is full of stories waiting to be told.

If you think you're the right fit for a small daily newspaper that covers big stories, send a cover letter, resume and clips to brad.staman@starherald.com.
