The Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City has an opening for ten-week summer internship positions in Public and Community Affairs at the Omaha, Oklahoma City and Denver Branch offices. Interns will receive hands-on job experience assisting with projects to support community and educational outreach efforts. Internships require demonstration of independence and responsibility along with initiative and creativity. Strong writing, communication, speaking and leadership skills are desired.

Key Activities Include:
• Creating content to be used for a variety of marketing and public relations initiatives; may include email marketing, web-based copy, newsletter stories and other publications.
• Planning events and activities in partnership with Bank staff and community partners.
• Researching new opportunities for outreach and potential contacts in the community.
• Employing a variety of communication channels (web, social, print, etc.) to reach project goals.
• Serving as “consultants” to Bank management by completing projects and preparing recommendations for implementing or improving programs.
• Developing plans to market and promote events and educational products, and assessing the effectiveness of these through appropriate evaluation methods.
• Assisting with news media outreach efforts.

Required Education:
• Undergraduate or graduate students in majors such as communications, public relations, English, marketing, sociology or public affairs/public policy.
