Older Adults and Disasters: Overcoming Stereotypes and Strengthening Inclusion

The Center for Disaster Philanthropy is hosting a webinar on May 11 to help funders, academics, emergency managers, and non-governmental agencies, understand the stereotypes and ageism that exists in the U.S. that marginalizes people and minimize their contributions. 1. Understand the diverse experiences of older adults and how to combat stereotypes.
2. Learn about considerations for supporting recovery for older adults in disasters and humanitarian crises.
3. Know how to ensure financial support improves access and strengthens inclusion for older adults before, during and after disasters and humanitarian crises.
