Experiencing an emergency or disaster event in your community is difficult for many reasons. Not only is this where you work, but it may also be where you live and raise your family. You know the people and the impacts on them – maybe you are impacted personally by the event. As an Extension professional and a trusted member of the community, people will continue to reach out to you for help seeking educational resources and information that they will need in recovery.
When disaster strikes what is our role? How do we navigate this challenge as an office, as an organization – all while we help our community navigate a disaster?
To help, there are resources available online:

You’ll need to be logged in with your credentials (top right on the web site).
You can also reach out to any member of the Nebraska EDEN team (https://disaster.unl.edu/nebraska-eden) or Soni Cochran, scochran2@unl.edu if you have questions or want to talk about navigating your role in a disaster. We are here to help you as you help Nebraskans when they need it most.
