FEMA’s Disaster Assistance Website

FEMA has a website where people and communities impacted by disasters can find information and resources to help navigate recovery. At the top of the website, there is a drop down to select the language translation for the site. Go to https://disasterassistance.gov

Features:
• Simplified application and step-by-step form to apply for FEMA disaster assistance.
• Check the status and progress of a disaster assistance application.
• Enter a location to find local resources including Red Cross Open Shelters and other shelters open in the area and FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers (DRC) operating in an active disaster. There are also links to Small Business Administration with information about low-interest disaster loans for businesses and homeowners.
• A current list of states where disasters have been declared for Individual Assistance by FEMA.
• A calendar with FEMA deadlines to apply for declared disasters.
• Alerts for specific disasters or situations

Bookmark this page so it is handy if your community experiences a disaster. In a disaster, you may not have power, but you still might be able to access this mobile-friendly site on your cell phone.

Share this resource with your contacts: For those who have a Family Communications Plan (https://www.ready.gov/plan) or business Continuity of Operations Plan (https://www.ready.gov/business), one of your designated contacts that lives outside of the disaster zone can access this information and share status updates and available resources for survivors with you.
