We are following up with you with more information and details about Eureka! 2014 on March 18-19, 2014.
This two-day event is designed to engage all of you with UNL research and creativity activities for the purpose of:
• Gathering the campus community in robust conversation around the concept of an engaged university for all Nebraskans,
• Fostering collaboration between UNL Extension professionals and the research and creative works of UNL faculty,
• Expanding Extension professionals’ capacity for engaging in translational, high-impact research for Nebraskans, and which align with Extension’s strategic objectives,
• Encouraging new working relationships that advance UNL’s research and creative impact.
Several general and breakout sessions are being planned for City Campus on March 18 and East Campus on March 19. The breakout sessions will allow extension professionals from across the state to visit in small groups with UNL faculty about their research and creative works in variety of settings.
A key part of Eureka! 2014 will be an Engagement Colloquium. Dr. Lou Swanson, Vice Provost for Outreach and Strategic Partnerships at Colorado State University will be our keynote speaker. An important part of the Colloquium will be a poster/demonstration session, please be thinking about projects or programs that you would like to share with the UNL Campus community.
We are excited about the conversations and dialogues that will occur over these two days. Here is a brief agenda for the two-day event: http://go.unl.edu/75bz. You will receive a more detailed agenda with descriptions of the sessions in registration materials to be released in mid-February. You will have the opportunity to sign up for the sessions you would like to attend. For now, we ask that you save the dates and have begun to make your lodging arrangements (see earlier communication from Linda Tempel).
