UNL Youth Safety Policy

As you know 'ALL' UNL staff and volunteers are responsible for protecting the safety of the youth we serve. UNL has instituted a youth safety policy that we follow. If you will be interacting with youth in any way (even if you do not have a 4-H appointment) you are required by UNL to complete youth safety training. There are two ways to do this. 4-H hosted a webinar in January that you can review at https://4h.unl.edu/webseminars or review the training module on the UNL Youth safety website at http://police.unl.edu/policies/YouthSafetyPolicyTrainingModule2014_0.pdf. Once you have reviewed one of these trainings please report your completion at http://go.unl.edu/youthsafetypolicytraining. We are required to keep a list of staff that have completed youth safety training and this will be our only record that all staff are trained. You can learn more about the youth safety policy at http://4h.unl.edu/youthprotectionresources.

All youth activities must complete the youth activity registration form. We have completed a blanket form for all 4-H activities. So if your activity is a 4-H event you do not need to complete the registration form. We have been approved by the vice chancellor for all in state educational activities conducted by staff or volunteers and for any out-of-state travel.

If you are working with a youth event in your department that is not associated with 4-H you will need to complete the youth activity registration form found at http://police.unl.edu/policies/Registration%20Form_0.pdf.

Thanks for completing the qualtrics at http://go.unl.edu/youthsafetypolicytraining indicating that you have reviewed the youth safety training modules.
