Statewide Extension Website System Migration Plan

Nebraska Extension is pleased to announce we are about to begin the transition process to our new statewide website management system. The new system will provide offices an attractive image and interface mirroring that of the new Nebraska Extension website (extension.unl.edu). Offices will have the ability to promote local programs and information, while linking people to important Extension and University information and services. We hope you will take the opportunity to develop an exciting website that will add great value to our Extension program. We want to thank the feedback and assistance provided by the the statewide website development team, which included representatives from each Extension district, Extension administration, and University Communications and their Internet and Interactive Media Group who has developed the new system.

The new system will be ready for wide scale distribution beginning September 8, just after State Fair. As such, the following web conferences have been scheduled to 1) introduce offices/users to the new website management system; 2) review content being transitioned to the new site; 3) train users how to edit/post/manage content, and 4) identify points of contact for questions. These general webinars are scheduled as follows:

Following these general sessions and beginning the week of September 14, county and district offices will have one week to begin working in the UNLcms system to familiarize themselves with the system and to update content prior to the public transition to their new website.
