Rural communities face challenges when it comes to emergency planning and preparedness efforts. Smaller workforces, limited resources, competing time demands and geographic distance results in a shortage of engaged individuals and a greater likelihood of becoming overwhelmed when resources are quickly consumed.
The Center for Preparedness Education is bringing a workshop to three locations in March that will help rural Nebraskans develop solutions:
- March 19th in Norfolk at Faith Regional Services
- March 21st in Beatrice at the Holiday Inn
- March 23rd in North Platte at Mid-Plains Community College
The workshop will run from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. It is intended for community leaders, public health, healthcare, emergency management, EMS, fire, law enforcement, businesses, producers and growers.
