Water for Food Institute - Education and Outreach Competitive Grants Program

An opportunity for Outreach Program Grants (up to $30,000 per year for two years) and Curriculum Development Grants (up to $15,000 for one year) is available through the Water for Food Institute (RFA is found at http://waterforfood.nebraska.edu/resources/). Education and outreach proposals are being solicited that will generate interest in water and food issues among faculty, students and stakeholders and: 1) further the development of signature education and outreach programs; 2) enable innovative collaborations among NU faculty and public‐ and private‐sector institutions and organizations in the U.S. and internationally; and 3) lead to funding from federal agencies, foundations, the private sector and other entities. Letters of Intent are due by February 20. Proposals that address the following outputs will be considered:
· Educational products that facilitate understanding of the linkages between water and food such as water use efficiency programs.
· Innovative use of formats, such as electronic media and mobile device applications (apps) and novel graphic approaches.
· Curriculum and education projects and programs important to Nebraska and other agricultural regions.
· Effective collaborations with public and private sector partners.
· Interdisciplinary teams.
· Leverage Institute funding to attract additional funding from other entities.
