Lancaster County Volunteers Receive Statewide 4-H Awards!

Two Lancaster County 4‑H volunteers were recognized with Nebraska 4‑H state-level awards in 2024. Lancaster County 4‑H recognized these volunteers with an informal presentation at the Lancaster County Super Fair. Nebraska 4‑H recognized all the statewide award winners at a formal ceremony at the Nebraska State Fair.

OUTSTANDING ADULT VOLUNTEER (1 of 11 individuals)
Marsha Prior has been an exceptional leader in Lancaster County for nearly three decades. She previously led the Clover Kids 4‑H club (in which her children were members) and currently is leader of the Fusion 4‑H’ers club (in which her grandchildren are members). Marsha’s clubs have been recognized as a Nebraska 4‑H Club of Excellence and Lancaster County Outstanding 4‑H Club multiple times. She serves on 4‑H Council, has taught multiple workshops and helps at the Life Challenge Contest and Lancaster County Super Fair.

EMERGING ADULT VOLUNTEER (1 of 11 individuals)
Kearah “Key” Perreault joined the 4‑H Master Health Volunteers in 2022, in which she has devoted over 70 hours to building health equity for all community members, with a focus on serving those in need. Some of the initiatives she has volunteered with includes:
• Organizing an effort with the Poverty Impact Network to provide feminine hygiene kits to young women in need.
• Initiating a project of sharing resources among non-profit organizations in Lincoln to enable equitable assistance to those in need.
• Helping develop and present a poster at the True Leaders in Equity Institute in Washington, D.C.
