In February Professor Alan Frank spoke as part of One Billion Rising for Justice 2014. The annual event continues a global call to rise up for women survivors of violence and those who love them. The event was aimed at raising awareness of issues of justice and gender violence and encouraging support for nonprofit agencies that serve survivors. Events were held across Lincoln and were free and open to the public.

Frank’s panel discussion, What does justice look like in the context of violence against women?
was held at Nebraska Wesleyan University. Mo Java Cafe, Meadow Lark Coffee & Espresso and Gratitude Cafe & Bakery sponsored poetry readings and benefits. A Rise, Release, Dance and Demand Justice event was held at the Bethany Park Shelter.
