Professor Christal Sheppard argued in opposition to LB677 Nebraska Patent Abuse Prevention Act. The bill drafted by Attorney General Bruning was introduced by Senator Mello. The AG's office testified in support, as did a printing association and a banking lobbyist. Six patent law students were in attendance as well.

Sheppard will also be a moderator for the IP panel at the Eighth Circuit judicial conference in August in Omaha.

Finally, Professor Sheppard participated in the Public Patent Advisory Committee, and her comments were highlights in this BNA article: Innovation Act, PTAB Rulings Replace Budget As Hottest Topics at PPAC Quarterly Meeting: http://news.bna.com/lsln/LSLNWB/split_display.adp?fedfid=41754877&vname=lslrnotallissues&jd=a0e6q3d3z9&split=0
