Welcome back!
The Law College is looking for students to participate in the 2012 ABA Arbitration Competition. The competition involves performing mock arbitrations, acting as attorneys and witnesses.
Law students make opening and closing statements and conduct witness examinations, but in a less formal atmosphere than a courtroom. Law students also use documentary evidence, as well as demonstrative evidence in order to make the most effective case. Unlike some of the other competitions, there is NO brief writing requirement.
You do not need to have taken any ADR classes to participate!
The teams will be coached by Allen Overcash, who is a practicing arbitrator and regularly represents clients in arbitration.
Please e-mail Professor Kristen Blankley if you would like more information on the competition at kblankley2@unl.edu.
