The Grether Competition is an opportunity for teams of two to put their advocacy skills to the test in front of practicing attorneys and potential employers. The competition will boost your resume... and... there are cash prizes. $150 for the first-place team, $100 for second place, and $50 for the best oral advocate.
Competition dates are October 8th, 9th and 11th.
Final rounds are the 12th in front of the Nebraska Court of Appeals.
The competition does not require you to write a brief-- competitors need only submit an outline.
Issues to be argued concern the First Amendment.
Sign-up through Sept. 27th at 4:00 in the Dean's office. Please include any law firms you have worked for when you sign up for purposes of conflict checks. BOTH partners need to sign up for the competition individually.
The problem will be distributed September 28th.
After September 28th competitors will not be allowed to drop from the competition absent compelling reasons. Outlines are due October 5th.
