2013 International Humanitarian Law (IHL) Student Writing Competition
American University Washington College of Law Center for Human Rights and Humanitarian Law (Center) and the American Society of International Law’s Lieber Society (ASIL) are pleased to once again announce the International Humanitarian Law (IHL) Student Writing Competition.
The Competition seeks submissions of academic papers on the topic of international humanitarian law (IHL) from students currently enrolled in a law degree program in the United States or abroad (JD, LLM or equivalent). The purpose of the Competition is to enhance scholarship and deepen understanding among students in this important area of international law.
The two winning authors will present their papers at an expert conference in Spring 2013 at American University Washington College of Law in Washington, DC, with travel and accommodation expenses covered.
Winners will also receive a complimentary registration at the ASIL Annual Meeting on April 3-6, 2013 in Washington, DC, as well as a one-year student membership with ASIL.
