There are new and growing threats to religious liberty and to public religious expression. In addition, there are many of the same kinds of First Amendment battles that are familiar to most law students. The new emerging trend is the shift of civil rights organizations from treating religious liberty as a priority to beginning to either withdraw from the arena or engage in outright hostility to religious liberty, contrary to previous positions. Sasser will explore why that is going on and what the future holds for those who care about religious liberty.
