Who we are: We are the student chapter of the Defense Research Institute, a national organization of defense attorneys. Our partner at the state level is the Nebraska Defense Counsel Association, a state-wide organization of defense lawyers.
What we do: This fall we will be hosting a panel on careers in defense litigation and doing a volunteer event. In the spring we plan to offer a resume review program for our members, hold a “de-briefing” after the Nebraska Supreme Court hears oral arguments at the law college, and host a social hour/clerking tips session for members.
Who should attend: Any student (1L-3L, LLM, MLS) with an interest in litigation -- representing either plaintiffs or defendants. We also welcome those who aren’t quite sure what they’re interested in but want to learn more about litigation.
Other details: Our annual dues are $20. Being a member involves a minimal time commitment and gets you access to a very active community of practicing lawyers.
