The ABA Representative is strongly encouraged to attend or find a proxy to attend the ABA Annual Meeting, Fall Super-circuit Meeting, and Spring 8th Circuit Meeting. Finally, the ABA works with other ABA Representatives and Student Body Association Presidents on the regional and national levels to develop or strengthen ABA policies impacting law students and improve ABA initiatives on law school campuses.
Remember that you must be an SBA member to run for all offices.
If you would like to run for one of these positions or have any questions regarding the election process, contact Michael Boal at boal.michael@gmail.com or any other current SBA executive officer for the needed documentation:
A candidate information sheet. This gives you an opportunity to educate your peers why you would be a qualified and valuable SBA officer.
A signature sheet. To be placed on the ballot for the March 18 election, you will need ten (10) signatures from current SBA members.
A disclosure sheet acknowledging that you understand the most pertinent SBA bylaw provisions pertaining to elections prior to running for office.
A current copy of the SBA bylaws.
Paper work is due by Friday, March 7 at 12:00pm (SBA office).
The SBA highly encourages anyone who is considering running to give it a shot. SBA is a great organization of which to be a part, and provides a great opportunity to interact with both students and faculty at the law school!
