Kansas City Off-Campus Interviews
*Date set for Monday, August 10

Our annual off-campus interview program that we hold at the Hampton Inn & Suites Country Club Plaza in Kansas City has been set for Monday, August 10. After your grades are final, we will be opening up bidding to the firms who have signed up. Like Fall and Spring OCI, this is a pre-select system so you will “bid” and then be selected by firms based on your application materials. Many firms will interview all the students who meet their general hiring criteria. Here are the firms who participated in 2014:

Stinson Leonard Street
Lathrop & Gage
Shook Hardy & Bacon
McAnany, VanCleave, Phillips
Bryan Cave LLP
Ogletree Deakins
Spencer Fane

Many KC firms have offices around the country so this is a great foot in the door of a larger market.

Even if you have already accepted a position for Summer 2015, consider throwing your hat into the ring for a Summer 2016 position. Stay tuned for more details and make sure to save the date!

3L One-on-One Appointments
We are reaching out to all 3Ls to ask that each of you take time to touch base with the CSO in the next few weeks. As part of your graduation packet that Vicki Lill will distribute in soon, you will be asked to complete the graduate survey in ROSCOE. We have already made the Graduate Survey available to you (under your profile tab) so you can fill it out at any time. This survey, however, is a poor substitute for a one-on-one meeting. Even if you have already accepted employment, please consider this short meeting an exit interview.

You are welcome to set up a phone call with Tasha if that is more convenient. You can stop by, call, or email lawcareer@unl.edu to set up a time. Depending on your situation, the meetings could vary from 5 minutes to 30 minutes. If you are still seeking employment, these meetings are especially important so we can better assist you in your search.
