Mandatory Meeting for Students Taking the Nebraska Bar Examination on Tuesday, January 19, at 12:15

At 12:15 on Tuesday, January 19, there will be a mandatory information session for 3L students who will be taking the Nebraska Bar Examination. The session will be held in the Auditorium, and it will last approximately one hour.

The session will provide important information for students who plan to a) take the Nebraska Bar exam, b) take the Uniform Bar Examination (UBE) in another state, or c) motion in to the Nebraska Bar after taking the bar exam in another state. Representatives from the Nebraska Supreme Court will present information and answer questions about the UBE, the motioning in process, the bar application, and the application’s character and fitness requirements. In addition, a representative from the Nebraska Mandatory Continuing Legal Education Commission will provide information about MCLE requirements in Nebraska.

Please note that the Nebraska bar application is now available to review online. https://supremecourt.nebraska.gov/sites/supremecourt.ne.gov/files/misc/attr-services/upl/EA_Nebraska.pdf. You may wish to examine the application over the holiday weekend so that you will be able to ask questions about it during Tuesday’s meeting.

Graduating students who are taking bar exams in other states will find the information useful, as the character and fitness requirements are the same or very similar in every state. 2L students who expect to graduate in December and take the February 2016 Nebraska Bar exam are also invited to attend.

A pizza lunch will be provided, but please bring your own drink.

Please contact Dean Pearce if you have any questions.
