Human Trafficking Conference

As part of the UNL Interdisciplinary Conference on Human Trafficking, the College of Law will host "The Role of Law in Using the 4p’s to Combat Human Trafficking: Prevention, Prosecution, Protection, Partnership" on Thursday October 6 from 12-1 pm in the Auditorium. Each panelist will discuss the role of law and the legal system which respect to each of the 4ps and how successful this effort has been in the United States and Nebraska, particularly.

The panel will be moderated by Anna Williams Shavers, Cline Williams Professor of Citizenship Law, University of Nebraska College of Law.

Panelists include: Louise Shelley, the Omer L. and Nancy Hirst Endowed Chair for civic intellectual, University Professor in the School of Policy, Government and International Affairs and the founder and Director of the Terrorism, Transnational Crime and Corruption Center (TraCCC) at George Mason University; Leah Jonet Albright-Byrd, nationally recognized public speaker and human rights educator and the founder of the pioneering organization "Bridget's Dream."; Glen Th. Parks, Assistant Attorney General and Nebraska Human Trafficking Task Force Coordinator, Lincoln, NE
