Grace Day
Grace Day

The Women's Law Caucus and Schmid Law Library's "Roscoe at the Movies Film Series" Presents: "Amazing Grace"-- a documentary featuring Grace Day, a Midwest woman who graduated as the lone female at South Dakota School of Law in 1948 and practiced for many years in Missouri. Ms. Day endured a number of obstacles during her career, including male peers who believed women did not belong in the profession of law. Come learn how Ms. Day persevered, gained respect in the male-dominated legal community and built a successful career.

Afterward, a panel of Nebraska's own female "legal trailblazers" explain in what ways their experiences relate to, or differ from, Ms.Day's experiences. These esteemed panelists will discuss where women in the profession of law have come and where they're headed in the future:
• Joy Shiffermiller - partner at her own firm, Shiffermiller Law
• Patricia Vannoy - partner at Mattson Ricketts
• Meg Mikolajczyk - staff attorney/lobbyist/policy analyst for Planned Parenthood
• Caitlin Cedfeldt - associate for Dvorak & Donovan (formerly of Kutak Rock)
• Gail Perry - managing partner at Baylor Evnen
• Hon. Jan Gradwohl - retired county court judge
