Thank you for a terrific year at the College of Law. You have made an enormous impact on our community over the past year. You began the year painting four houses for people in need through the Lincoln Paint-a-thon. Then you taught public school children about the Constitution, collected clothes for those who desperately needed them, and donated to many wonderful causes, including Big Brothers and Big Sisters and domestic abuse shelters. You helped your own classmates by supporting them when they were deployed overseas or when their family members met with tragedy. This is only a sampling, of course, as you also focused on issues such as community justice, the role of pro bono work, developing a range of professional skills. All of this on top of your classwork!
Speaking of which, I wish you the very best as you head into final exams and your summer experience. For those of you who are graduating, I am very excited to celebrate with you and your guests on May 6! For those who will be back in the fall, I look forward to welcoming you back, hearing about your summers, and helping you figure out how to get the most out of your remaining time at Nebraska Law.
