Embury talks about The Tile Club (1877-1887)

Stuart P. Embury, MD, book-collector, and donor of the Stuart P. Embury MD Library of American Art, will be giving a lecture on the Tile Club, a group of artists that formed the club in 1877 and was active for 10 years. The presentation is scheduled for October 24, at 3:30 p.m. in Love Library South 29 (Archives & Special Collections Reading Room).

Members of the Tile Club included American artists such as Winslow Homer, J. Alden Weir, Augustus Saint-Gaudens, and William Merritt Chase among others. Dr. Embury will focus the history of the Club and the rare book they produced in 1886.
