The BTAA - Biochemical Society agreement is the latest agreement to support Open Access and remove barriors to publish Open Access.

Under an agreement recently negotiated by the Big Ten Academic Alliance, University of Nebraska authors can publish their work Open Access (OA) in Biochemical Society /Portland Press journals at no cost to themselves. The agreement covers articles accepted for publication in any of the Biochemical Society’s journals on or after January 1, 2024, where the corresponding author is affiliated with a University of Nebraska institution. It also provides subscription access to all Biochemical Society publications.

All Biochemical Society journals are included:
• Biochemical Journal
• Clinical Science
• Bioscience Reports (OA)
• Neuronal Signaling (OA)
• Biochemical Society Transactions
• Essays in Biochemistry
• Emerging Topics in Life Sciences (co-owned with the Royal Society of Biology)

This is the eighth such agreement that the University of Nebraska Libraries have been able to benefit from through the Big Ten Academic Alliance and pass along the benefits to Nebraska faculty and researchers.

“It is our hope that University of Nebraska faculty, researchers, and students will take advantage of these publishing opportunities to increase their scholarly impact in these journals, and in other OA agreements.” Charlene Maxey-Harris, Associate Dean.
