The University of Nebraska Consortium of Libraries (UNCL) is piloting a data curation and sharing service through its Research Data Services (RDS) team. This pilot is open to researchers at all NU campuses who are interested in sharing research data.
“We hope to learn more about the unique data curation and sharing needs of researchers at institutions with different missions, and then develop shared services and tools that benefit all of our Nebraska system universities, hopefully with little additional cost,” Scout Calvert, chair of Research Partnerships at UNL Libraries explains.
Data curation is the organization, compilation, and integration of data for sharing, reuse, and archiving. Researchers may need such services to compile, organize, and preserve data from past projects, or to share it to meet funder or publication requirements. Data curation librarians will work with researchers to determine data curation needs and identify an appropriate repository for sharing.
To learn more or find out if your project data is eligible for participation, please contact Scout Calvert (scout.calvert@unl.edu.) or Leslie Delserone (ldelserone2@unl.edu) at UNL, David Arredondo at UNK (arredondodr@unk.edu), Lisa Chinn (lchinn@unmc.edu) at UNMC, or Omer Farooq (ofarooq@unomaha.edu) at UNO.
