Thank you for your continuing partnership and support of the FHWA Every Day Counts (EDC) program. Based on the final reports of the first six EDC rounds, and the progress reports from the current EDC-7 innovations, it is clear that together we are making a positive difference in advancing a culture of innovation in transportation.
I am happy to announce that the Call for Ideas for the next round of EDC is now open. I encourage you and your members to identify market-ready, proven, yet underutilized innovations that could continue to transform transportation if highlighted in the next round of EDC.
The website provides instructions for submitting your innovations and provides an opportunity to comment on the innovations of interest FHWA staff has identified for consideration in this round.
Please share the link to this website with your members. The period to provide suggestions is open through February 4, 2025. Please consider collecting comments from your members and sending the consolidated recommendations to us.
FHWA has also reached out to the State Department of Transportation CEOs and continues to encourage ideas from within FHWA.
FHWA looks forward to learning more about the innovations you suggest for EDC-8. As was done during previous rounds, after FHWA reviews the ideas received, we will convene a meeting with you to help us evaluate the ideas in support of finalizing the EDC-8 portfolio.
