Nebraska Conference for Undergraduate Women in Mathematics
The Nebraska Conference for Undergraduate Women in Mathematics is for outstanding undergraduate mathematicians at all stages of their careers. Students will have the opportunity to meet other women who share their interest in the mathematical sciences, and those who have already done research apply to the conference and are selected to present their results. Conference participants also will have a chance to learn about life in graduate school from the perspective of current women graduate students representing math departments from across the country, including the Department of Mathematics.
The first plenary talk is Trachette Jackson, University of Michigan, followed by a careers panel.

Alcoholics Anonymous Meeting
Nebraska’s new Collegiate Recovery Community (CRC) will support a student’s decision to remain sober. Beginning January 13, Alcoholics Anonymous meetings will take place at Husker Hall on Mondays at 8 p.m. Chaired by two UNL alumni who are long-time members of the 12-step program, meetings are open to the university community. For many young people in recovery, a college social environment defined by alcohol and/or drug use can pose significant challenges. Sometimes, people find themselves giving up on college education in order to remain sober.
