Open Positions at BCAM – Basque Center for Applied Mathematics
The Spanish State Research Agency (AEI) has published the call for PhD contracts to be performed at Severo Ochoa Excellence Research Centers or within the research projects funded in the call of 2021. The call offers 4 positions in the following areas:
• One PhD Student position with regard to Severo Ochoa accreditation (SEV-2017-0718-21-1). In CORE IN APPLIED MATHEMATICS: Fourier Analysis, Algebraic Geometry and Singularity Theory, Discrete Mathematics, Inverse Problems, PDEs, Mathematical Physics, Dynamical Systems, Quantum Mechanics, etc., Host Institution: BCAM
• One PhD Student position with regard to Severo Ochoa accreditation (SEV-2017-0718-21-2). In COMPUTATIONAL MATHEMATICS: Computer Simulation, CFD, Mathematical Modelling, HPC, Numerical Analysis, Mathematical Neuroscience, etc., Host Institution: BCAM
• One PhD Student position with regard to Severo Ochoa accreditation (SEV-2017-0718-21-3). In APPLICATIONS OF MATHEMATICS: Applied Statistics, Energy, Biosciences, Advanced manufacturing, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Biomathematics, etc., Host Institution: BCAM
• One PhD Student position with regard to “Singularities in Algebraic Geometry and their interactions with Topology, Metric Geometry and Simplistic Geometry” Javier Fernández de Bobadilla (PID2020-114750GB-C33), Host Institution: BCAM
with a 4-year duration total 73.000 EUR in sum the 4 years. This grant can also fund the doctoral course tuition fees and predoctoral mobility (up to 6,860€ in total). Those PhD Students that defend their thesis before the 4-year period are issued to 1-year postdoctoral contract. The programme is open to students of any nationality and the period to apply is from October 28th to November 11th, 14:00 CET.
