Financial Analyst Position at BHHC
A former Math major who works at Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Companies has alerted us to a Financial Analyst position that would be a great fit for a Math major. He also let us know that the position has attracted few applications so far. Apply as soon as possible if interested!
Some information about the Financial Analyst position, we are looking for individuals who like working with data and doing data analysis, as well as a general ability to learn (there’s a lot to learn about the company and insurance business, I’ve been here 6 months just about and I still learn something new every day!).
Our team works with just about every single department, so there is a ton of variety. For example, I’ve worked on expenses analysis projects for the IT team and will be hopefully starting a project with the “procurement” team about what the best way to manage their auto fleet would be, in terms of costs and other variables). Other interesting projects my team members have worked on are analyzing data to try to identify patterns that could be indicative of insurance fraud.
Experience with softwares such as SQL, PowerBI, or R are preferred, but not required. We use Excel for just about everything, so a solid working knowledge of Excel is incredibly helpful.
From my personal experience, it’s a great company to work for and my team is incredibly fun to work with. We are a pretty close-knit group, and I found it very easy to interact and fit in with the team, and the company really keeps “community” in mind with just about everything we do.
