Hello Math Majors,
I hope you are doing well as the semester marches along. We are in the middle of the priority registration period, and things continue to be busy for me as they are for all of you. Below is the same information about priority registration as last week with a few updates.
Priority registration is the period in which students may begin enrollment for the following academic term. Priority Registration for the Fall 2022 semester runs from Monday, March 28th to Tuesday, April 12th. Registration appointment times are assigned to avoid overloading the registration system during the high demand period. Before priority registration and during priority registration, students may access the Enrollment section of MyRED to place classes in their shopping cart, but the enrollment process cannot be completed until the designated appointment time.
Appointment times are assigned to eligible students based on their current class level (actual earned hours). Within each class level, appointment times are distributed randomly each term from earliest to latest over three days excluding weekends. The priority class levels and dates are:
1. Graduate Students & Seniors (89 credit hours or more) - Open Registration Now
2. Juniors (53-88 credit hours) - Open Registration Now
3. Sophomores (27-52 credit hours) - Today to Thursday, April 7th
4. Freshmen (0-26 credit hours) - Friday, April 8th to Tuesday, April 12th
Students who have completed more credit hours are given earlier times since they normally have more specific courses required to complete their degree requirements. Some students in specific groups will be given an earlier priority registration date or time to make sure that they have the most course options for their remaining requirements.
You can view your assigned enrollment appointment during Priority Registration in MyRed. This appointment is not an advising appointment. It is just the first time that you are able to enroll. Please don't hesitate to reach to if you have questions or concerns about your priority registration appointment date.
After Priority Registration ends on Tuesday, April 12th, we will begin a period of open registration for the Fall 2022 semester. During Open Registration, no appointment is needed and initial registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Any student who is eligible to enroll may access MyRED.

As a reminder from last week, this fall, the Math Department is planning to offer the following courses along with the usually offerings of Calculus (I, II, and III), Different Equations, Linear Algebra, Intro to Mathematical Proofs, Intro to Modern Algebra, and Elementary Analysis:
MATH 408: Mathematics for High School Teaching II - only open to Secondary Education Mathematics majors and Mathematics majors pursuing the Education Option (Required for the Education Option)

Please don't hesitate to schedule a meeting with me if any questions about classes for the Summer 2022 and Fall 2022 semesters. Remember, advising-related holds on your registration for future semesters can normally NOT be lifted without a meeting, so please plan ahead.

CAPS Undergraduate BIPOC Therapy Group Available
Counseling and Psychological Services has a Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) Therapy group that currently meets on Wednesdays from 3:00-4:30pm on Zoom. This group is designed for undergraduate students of color to offer and receive support from peers as they develop self-awareness and insight on issues such as academics, imposter syndrome, micro-aggressions, isolation, loneliness, adjustment to college, and more. Since this is classified as a therapy group, each group member needs to be an official patient at CAPS, which consists of having an open file and having completed an Initial Evaluation appointment. At the initial evaluation appointment, students can share with the clinician that they are interested in the Undergrad BIPOC group, and the clinician can connect interested students with therapy group facilitators, Falesa and Derrick.
