IC Scholars

The IC CAE in National Security Studies Program was established during 2005 in response to the nation’s increasing need for IC professionals who are educated and trained with the unique knowledge, skills and capabilities to carry out America’s national security objectives. The IC CAE Program provides colleges and universities with the opportunity to implement curricula focusing on the critical IC skill sets needed to strengthen the IC workforce and effectively meet mission requirements.

The UNL IC Scholars Program has mentored more than 200 students in the past decade and sent dozens to productive careers in Federal service. In the years leading up to the pandemic students from our program stood a better than 50/50 shot at leaving UNL with a conditional job offer with a security clearance. This is well above most other similar programs in the country. We have a formula that works for helping students navigate the rather odd process of getting a job in the IC.
