Conference for Advanced Undergrad and Grad Students in Utah
On behalf of the University of Utah chapter of the Association for Women in Mathematics, Trung Chau, Anne Fayolle, Jenna Judd, Madison Pearce, and I are organizing a workshop for early-career grad students and advanced undergraduates interested in pure mathematics. The goals of this workshop are to expose students from diverse backgrounds to potential research areas through a series of lectures and problem sessions and to foster a sense of community amongst young mathematicians. The department's NSF-RTG grant is sponsoring this conference.
The workshop will be July 10-12, 2024, at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, UT. Funding is available for undergraduate and graduate students, with priority given to participants with backgrounds that are traditionally underrepresented in mathematics. The deadline to apply for funding is May 1, 2024, and registration will be open through June 1, 2024.
You can find more information and an application form for funding on the conference website: http://www.math.utah.edu/awmchapter/conference. We can also be reached by email at bridges@math.utah.edu.
Confirmed speakers are Kim Ruane (Tufts University), Rehka Thomas (University of Washington), and Ila Varma (University of Toronto).
Thank you,
Sandra Rodríguez, on behalf of the organizers
