2025 Data Science Internship, AI/ Machine Learning

Responsibilities
• Apply real-time descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive modeling to enable business decisions and deliver valuable insights using statistical and machine learning methods.
• Critically evaluate customer requirements, explore and understand data, and create and deploy solutions to meet those requirements.
• Utilize programming skills and version control to develop scalable solutions, database languages and transformation libraries to extract and transform data, and tools to deploy solutions.
• Effectively communicate and collaborate with clients and other employees in a diverse set of roles from individual contributors to senior management.

Qualifications
• Strong foundation in one or more areas of data science modeling: classification, regression, time series analysis, clustering, and natural language processing.
• Proficient in a modern programming language, preferably Python or R.
• Experience in data cleaning and transformation. Experience interfacing with relational databases, NoSQL, or graph databases is a plus.
• Experience creating user interfaces is a plus, specifically with R Shiny, Python Streamlit or Python Dash, and Power BI.
• Ability to manage complex projects and methodically work towards rigorous solutions.
• Critically evaluate customer requirements and deploy solutions to meet specific needs.

Required Education: Pursuing or enrolled in an M.S. or Ph.D. in the United States in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, Mathematics, or any other relevant field including engineering.

Location: Kingsport, TN (in-person/hybrid)
