The University of Arizona is a Hispanic Serving Institution. We encourage applications from traditionally under-represented groups. There are funding opportunities for members of such groups including Graduate Access Fellowships for students who are first generation college students, have financial need, or have had other significant disadvantages or challenges. The UArizona School of Mathematical Sciences is a Silver Member of the Math Alliance Center. Graduate students have an active chapter of the Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM).
"One thing I truly admire is the friendly and collaborative nature of the department. The abundance of student-led organizations in the department, as they help bring people together and create a strong, supportive community makes it easy to connect with people and dive into new ideas." - Parneet Gill, Graduate Math Student
