Directed Undergraduate Reading Program

Ryan Watson and Derek DeBlieck are again leading this semester's iteration of the Directed Reading Program. The Directed Reading Program (DRP) aims to pair undergraduate students with graduate mentors to explore mathematical topics beyond the typical undergraduate curriculum. The DRP consists of a unique, informal setting where students can delve into topics through weekly meetings with their mentors.

Over the course of the semester, participants dedicate approximately three hours each week to reading and discussing their chosen topic. At the end of the semester, they will present their findings to their peers in the program.

The DRP is a great way to begin exploring Mathematics outside of the classroom setting, and it has opened the door to more formal research experiences for past students.

The deadline for students to apply for this program is Friday, January 31!

Interested students should apply through github at https://drp-unl.github.io/index.html or email Derek at ddeblieck2@unl.edu and/or Ryan Watson at rwatson9@unl.edu directly.
