Spring 2025 Kansas Mathematics Graduate Student Conference

Kansas State University, Manhattan, KS, May 3-4, 2025

The Kansas Mathematics Graduate Student Conference (KMGSC) is a semi-annual event hosted alternately by the University of Kansas and Kansas State University in the fall and spring, respectively. KMSGC provides a unique student-only environment where math graduate and advanced undergraduate students can give research and expository presentations to an audience of peers.

Contributed Talks
Since the purpose of KMGSC is to create the opportunity for students and postdocs to gain experience presenting and discussing mathematical work, the focus of the conference agenda is contributed talks. Talks from all stages of research and other mathematical work are welcomed, expository and introductory topics are especially encouraged so that talks are as accessible to as many participants as possible.

This Spring, we will have both 20 minute talks and 5 minute lightning talks! As this conference has a very general audience we recommend the following guideline for 20 minute talks: The first 5 minutes of a talk should be accessible to undergraduate students, the next 5 minutes aimed at a second year graduate students and the last 10 minutes can be specialized. Priority given early career graduate students and providing the conference with a diverse array of talks.

Register by Sunday, March 16, 2025, for full consideration for talks.

Financial Support
This conference is supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the University of Kansas Math Department. Partial funding for travel and lodging is available, with priority given to those giving contributed talks and from underrepresented groups.

Register by Sunday, March 16, 2025, for full consideration for funding.
