Hello Meteorology-Climatology Majors,
I hope that you are getting settled into the spring semester. I don't know about you, but I am getting tired of snow. Please careful over the next week or more as this is the dangerous kind of cold weather.
The Spring 2021 University Career Fairs are coming up this month, and the registration is open now. There are multiple events to help you get ready for the Career Fair, and I would strongly encourage you to participate in these events. Spring 2021 Career Event Calendar
The Spring 2021 University Career Fair will run over 4 days with each day having employers that align with different career pathways. This 4 days lay out as follows:
Day 1 - Tuesday, February 23rd, 12 pm – 4 pm
Career Pathways: Science & Research, Biotechnology, Information Technology, Computer Science & Development, Math & Data Analytics, Marketing, Advertising, Sales & Service, Hospitality & Tourism
Day 2 - Wednesday, February 24th, 12 pm – 4 pm
Career Pathways: Engineering, Construction, Manufacturing
Day 3 - Thursday, February 25th, 12 pm – 4 pm
Career Pathways: Transportation & Logistics, Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources, Nutrition, Finance, Accounting, Banking & Insurance
Day 4 - Friday, February 26th, 12 pm – 4 pm
Career Pathways: Business, Management and Operations, Training, Government & Public Administration, Human Services & Non-profit, Law, Public Safety & Security, Health & Public Health
In addition to the 4 days of career fairs above there is also an Education Career Fair on Friday, February 26th from 9 am – 12 pm. To register for these career fairs, please click here.
There will be employers on each day that will be interested in meeting with you, and you will have the opportunity to work on your networking skills. These events are extremely helpful and useful to those students that participate even if there isn't a specific opportunity available for you this summer or in the near future.
Don't feel ready for the career fair? Visit one our College of Arts and Sciences Career Coaches: Kristen Aldrich, Meagan Savage, or Joanna Seley. They will help you get ready for the career fairs, and they can help with other career related things like resumes and interviewing. Spring 2021 Meteorology-Climatology Advising
All academic advising for the Spring 2021 season will be completed virtually. This means that all advising meetings and interactions will be conducted on Zoom, over the phone, or via email. Doug and Professor Kopacz are available to meet your academic advising needs, and we look forward to meeting with you and working with you throughout the fall semester. Even though advising will continue to be virtual, we will do everything we can to support you for the winter season.
Due to social distancing even if Doug is in his office, you will need schedule an advising appointment that will be conducted via Zoom, phone, or email or join drop-in advising on Zoom. If an in-person meeting is absolutely required, arrangements will need to be made well in advance so we can accommodate social distancing in the meeting.
Doug’s advising hours will be:
Appointments – 8:30 am to 4:30 pm every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday
Appointments – 8:30 am to 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm every Wednesday and Friday
Drop-In Advising - 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm every Wednesday and Friday

When: Tuesdays & Thursdays 11AM-12PM (walk-ins welcome) and 2-3PM (appointments only)
Where: Bessey Hall Room 220C or ZOOM
