METR 470: The Climate System: Analysis and Prediction Time Change
The METR 470: The Climate System: Analysis and Prediction is changing meeting times for the Fall 2021 semester. Originally scheduled for the same time as METR 311, the METR 470 now has a TBA meeting schedule to allow all interested students to enroll. The METR 470 course can be used as a 400-level Meteorology Course Elective for the Meteorology-Climatology major, and it can also be used as an alternative capstone course for students primarily interested in Climatology.
Dr. Rowe will be teaching the METR 470 course this fall, and he will work with interested students to determine a specific meeting schedule for the course during the Fall 2021 semester. Here is a description of the course:
Prerequisites: Senior standing; major or minor in meteorology.
Description: Maintenance of the climate system and climate change over time. Global budgets of energy, water, and momentum and their balance. Development of simple, physically-based models of climate and of climate change.
