Spark Summer Learning Program
Volunteer opportunity in science education: The Spark Summer Learning Program is a 10-week summer program run by the Foundation for Lincoln Public Schools that offers age-appropriate Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM) experiences for elementary aged students.
They are looking for volunteers that would be interested in partnering with them to help provide a week of weather and climate curriculum/activities for their program in the summer of 2022. It is a "maker camp", so kids will be doing hands-on experiments and making things they can ideally take home at the end of the week. This volunteer position would involve some planning leading up to the event in the summer of 2022, as well as any time you are willing to volunteer during the event itself (e.g., Monday morning to kick off the week and then potentially Tuesday, Thursday, and/or Friday morning).
If you are interested in learning more about this opportunity and how it might be used to boost your resume, please reach out to Dr. Kopacz at dawn.kopacz@unl.edu.
