The NWC REU Program is Now Accepting Applications for Summer 2022!

Applications are due on February 14th at 11:59 pm CT!

Are you a community college or undergraduate student curious about what scientific research is like? In our 10-week summer research internship program, you conduct your own unique research study!

What is an REU all about?

In a Research Experiences for Undergraduates program, you are a member of a cohort of undergraduate students from across the U.S., learning and reflecting together through skill-building workshops, career exploration tours and field trips, science seminars, and a variety of social activities. You are paired with a mentor or mentor team that helps you conduct your own unique research study.

We support you! You receive the following:

Stipend of $6,000
Subsistence of $600 to help with food costs
Travel to/from Norman (up to $600)
National Conference Travel (up to $1,500)
Housing in on-campus apartments

Our mentors come from throughout the College of Atmospheric and Geographic Sciences at the University of Oklahoma. During the 2020 and 2021 REU programs, we were able to put together virtual tours and seminars that gave us the opportunity to talk to even more people across various organizations! We look forward to continuing this aspect in future programs.

Community

The NWC REU aims to be an inclusive program dedicated to supporting and enhancing the diversity of future scientific communities. Past participants have built lifelong friendships from their cohorts.
