Hello Meteorology-Climatology Majors,

This Spring 2023 semester seems to be going by very quickly, and I hope that it continues to go well for you. We are now in the 10th week of the semester (skipping spring break), which means that the withdraw deadline for full semester courses is in a couple of weeks. At this point, it is a very good idea to schedule a meeting with me or to visit me for a Zoom drop-in meeting rather than sending me an email. I want to help, but there are only so many things that I can do each day. Now, it is time to discuss Priority Registration again.

Priority Registration for the Fall 2023 semester started on Monday, March 27th. Remember, the registration times are set as follows:

Seniors (89+ credit hours) and Graduate Students - Now
Juniors (53-88 credit hours) - Now
Sophomores (27-52 credit hours) - Today (Tuesday, April 4th) through Thursday, April 6th
Freshmen (0-26 credit hours) - Friday, April 7th through Tuesday, April 11th
Open Registration - Wednesday, April 12th through Sunday, August 20th

Your registration date has been posted to MyRed, and this is your first opportunity to enroll in classes for the Fall 2023 semester. Once your Priority Registration date and time have passed, you can enroll at any time until classes start this fall. However, you can build your schedule for the fall semester and load the courses into your Shopping Cart now before your registration date arrives. Using your Priority Registration date is the best way to ensure that you get the courses that you need for the Fall 2023 semester. Please keep this in mind as you are making your plans for the next few weeks.

Holds
It is often impossible for me to lift a hold via email, and sometimes, I cannot lift a hold during a drop-in meeting. If you have a hold related to graduation planning, probation, or being in your first year, you need to schedule and attend a meeting with me to complete the required advising to have the hold lifted. To use your Priority Registration time, you must not have any holds on your registration.

For the Spring 2023 semester, I am taking in-person, Zoom, and phone meetings in 45-minute blocks from 8:30 am to 12:15 pm and 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm every weekday outside of my drop-in advising hours, and I am taking drop-in meetings via Zoom only on Mondays and on Fridays from 1 pm to 3 pm.

You can schedule a meeting with me by using the Student Success Hub via this link, by calling the College of Arts and Sciences Academic and Career Advising Center at 402-472-4190, by calling me at 402-472-4319, or by emailing me at dpellatz@unl.edu. You can find instructions for how to access and schedule meetings in the Student Success Hub system here. You can also find information about my virtual only drop-in meetings at https://cas.unl.edu/drop-in-advising-schedule.

Best wishes, Doug
