Meteorology-Climatology Journal Club

Hi everyone,

The Meteorology-Climatology Journal Club will be having its first meeting on Monday, October 7th at 3:30 pm in 105 Bessey Hall.

This semester we will be looking at case study papers regarding significant events. Our first event is the May 3rd 1999 tornado outbreak, using the two papers below to guide us. I have developed an outline that includes links to look at the maps and figures provided, so it will be interactive. The hope is that everyone will either learn something new or will get practice synthesizing meteorological information.

An Overview of Environmental Conditions and Forecast Implications of the 3 May 1999 Tornado Outbreak (Primary Paper)
Thompson & Edwards (200)
