The Global Experiences Offices (GEO) has lots of ways to help you gather information to help you make your decision about where and when to studying abroad. The deadline for going abroad for the fall semester is April 1st!
• Study abroad deadlines are approaching for fall 2025! If you are thinking about studying abroad, start with this video! Top 6 Questions Students Ask When They're Getting Started With Studying Abroad
• The next best step in your plan to study abroad is to attend a Huskers Abroad 101 info session, which is a 30-minute drop-in opportunity that Global Experiences offers every Tuesday at 3pm in LPH 07 and every Wednesday at 1pm in LPH 101. Huskers Abroad 102 is also a really great info session, and it walks you through options for funding your study abroad experiences. Huskers Abroad 102 is offered every week on Monday at 1pm in LPH 101.

• Explore possible programs you can apply for at the UNL program search website. You’ll find faculty-led programs, exchange programs, and more.

Global Snacks for Study Abroad Day
Stop by the LPH Atrium to try snacks and refreshments from around the world, learn more about studying abroad, meet Global Experiences staff, and learn who won the Global Affairs Photo Contest!
Monday, February 24th from 4-6pm in the LPH Atrium
MAPS Scholarship - Once a student applies for a program, they automatically receive a MAPS Application Form. Completing this application will allow an applicant to be considered for at least 12 study abroad scholarships. The MAPS application deadline aligns with the program application deadline of April 1st for fall or academic year programs.
External Scholarship
Boren Awards – Prestigious language study in non-Western European countries
Critical Language Scholarship – intensive overseas summer language learning for languages deemed critical by the US Department of State.
Gilman Scholarship – for Pell-eligible students to study abroad
Programs popular with Data Science, Geology, Mathematics, and Meteorology students:
Copenhagen or Stockholm: Mathematics courses
Various European locations: STEM Summer Research (very competitive)
Hannover, Germany: Summer Science Research Program
Bath, England: University of Bath Semester Exchange Program
