A Message from Dr. Karrie Weber:
Through this program, you have the opportunity to learn and explore the microbial and viral world while you develop your career. The Fall 2020 semester will certainly be different from those in the past. We are here to support you and your career development at UNL. We will have both in-person as well as virtual office hours during the Fall of 2020. Please do continue to explore the many courses that are offered and speak with your advisors and Dr. Brandi Sigmon, the program’s Academic Success Coordinator, to explore all the opportunities available to you. If you face any challenges or barriers, please do not hesitate to reach out to any of us in the Microbiology Office. We will do our best to assist you. In the event we do not have a solution or answer, we will connect you with the individuals and offices to assist you. We want each and every one of you to succeed!
As Director, I am available to any and all students and will hold virtual office hours on Zoom Mondays from 2:30 to 4:00. If you are unable to make these hours, please don’t hesitate to send me an email at kweber@unl.edu to schedule a meeting.

In my new role as the Academic Success Coordinator, I will be coordinating academic advising across the Colleges of Arts and Sciences and Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, as well as student retention and success programming, and designing hands-on learning opportunities for students in the undergraduate Microbiology program. This fall, I plan to be in my office (E249A Beadle Center) Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon-5pm and on Fridays 8:30am-3pm.
