NVIBE: Nexus of Virology, Immunology, and Bioengineering
NVIBE is a newer UNL initiative to build connections, community, and collaborations within the broad sectors of virology, immunology, and bioengineering at UNL, to generate innovation and new knowledge critical to address societal challenges. This initiative was supported by the Office of Research and Economic Development (ORED), the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources (IANR), and the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS). Seven teams of faculty were supported through Phase I grants during the 2024-2025 academic year, and this work was continued into 2025-2026 through two teams supported through Phase II grants. A key component of these projects, in addition to innovative new science, is community building. The current Phase II teams, including the laboratories of Peter Angeletti (Biological Sciences), Lindsey Crawford (Biochemistry), Yinsheng Guo (Chemistry), Fanben Meng (Mechanical Engineering), Emily Moore (Biological Sciences), Sathish Kumar Natarajan (Nutrition and Health Sciences), Nicole Sexton (Biological Sciences), and Qing Tang (Biochemistry), are hosting a combined Scholarship Series.
The NVIBE Scholarship Series will be hosted (initially) during Spring term 2026 and is open to everyone. We hope to see you there!
